Golden Globes 2012

We all love red carpet events, we wouldn’t be fashion bloggers if we didn’t. And the Golden Globe Awards are yet another reason to discuss, gossip and comment on the good, the bad, the ugly, the over priced designer gowns!

Blogging and Fame

I was so surprised to notice hundreds of links to different blogs and websites while leafing through one of the last 3 issues of InStyle. They included everything – from Hello Giggles to I Spy DIY.

But what does it take for an ordinary “small” town blogger to make it through? And by “small” town I mean anywhere, but NYC or LA! Are we blogging because we have something to say, or are we blogging to say something? I can put on my blog that someday I may want to become a Jew, will you take this statement seriously? Will you?

Sometimes things get discouraging. Look at Jenni from the mentioned above I Spy DIY – she’s been working in the fashion magazine industry for the past 4 years. One of the founders of Hello Giggles is Zooey Deschanel, who’s been the New Girl on our TV’s for the past few months (and to be honest I was quiet disappointed by that show, 2 Broke Girls totally take Zooey and her team of three men down!)

But anyways, back to the subject, or I guess to the question – Do you know a blogger who made it? Someone who got noticed and later rewarded for 5, maybe 10 years of slavering over the keyboard?

I mean you google “How to become a professional blogger” and end up with some nonsense as singing up for “pay for click”! Still…

Can you become famous by blogging or do you need to be famous already and draw attention to your blog that way?

Anyways, I hope you all had great holidays, and are looking forward to New Year and all it brings!

Stay tuned for some of this weeks posts. Tomorrow’s is going to be called “7 Dresses of Christmas” and later this week, I am going to teach you how to put a horse on a bag!

Love you all,

Fall 2011 Shows I am excited for

It doesn’t take much to make my day! Usually one episode of Chelsea Lately is enough. Since I have run out of books to read written by her, and I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on “The Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me” I am simply enjoying watching Chelsea Lately, every time it’s on TV. If there are no new episodes, I watch re-runs of That 70’s Show. Now last week the impossible happened, I learned that Laura Prepon will be starring in a new show based on one of Chelsea’s books – Are you there vodka? it’s me Chelsea. Which will air this fall. Don’t you just love this?

I don’t know why they picked Laura to play Chelsea, I like to think that it’s the Russianness that they both poses. And, well, they are both blond 🙂

I am also extremely excited for Chelsea herself to be on the show, playing a part of her sister. And of course Jo Koy!

So, thank you, NBC for this amazing show! I am officially excited!

The next show I am also excited for has my fav Zooey Deschanel. And it will air on Fox this fall. I am sure you’ve already figured out that I am talking about the New Girl!

Zooey’s face in this picture says it all! I am as excited for this as she is 🙂

I am also excited for the return of the Big Bang Theory, and the Office, and the other shows that I watch, except for I don’t think I’ll have this much time to watch them, because I’ll be married 🙂

Good role model, bad role model… (Please don’t show this to your children!)

We are all influenced by other people. Sometimes the influence is good, sometimes it’s bad, more like peer pressure bad. And sometimes people become our role models. I had great role models growing up. This post has nothing to do with them. Please don’t take this post seriously 🙂

1. Zooey Deschanel

Cons: A college drop out! Hey, I never went to Dartmouth, even though I got accepted!

Pros: Great vintage style, I draw so many outfits inspirations from her, has a beautiful voice, and supports healthy lifestyle (Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods kind of girl!)

2. Chelsea Handler

Cons: Talks too much about alcohol and likes to tell lies.

Pros: A great sense of humor and, of course, Chuy!

3. Amy Winehouse

Cons: Substance abuse and mental health issues.

Pros: She finally went to rehab and is gradually recovering!

4. Britney Spears

Cons: Don’t even get me started.

Pros: She doesn’t give up and keeps coming back! (even if it is to screw up even more)

5. Kat von D

Cons: Jessie James!

Pros: Loves animals, extremely talented, works well under stress!

PS. Sad story, but my parents have never been my role models!

Something Inspirational

I noticed a lot of bloggers were talking about Spring, and needless to say today is when “We spring forward”! My favorite place in the world to watch the coming of spring is New York City (The Reservoir, The Conservatory Gardens)

I also kind of felt like the past several posts have been pretty depressing. And not wanting to be a complete Debbie Downer, I decided to share something that is inspirational to me. And in spite of the fact that I do love spring, I love summer more. And the first thing that comes to mind when I think summer is…

Zooey Deschanel!

You can also read a great article about some fun summer activities if you follow the link below. Because summer is coming after all!

And don’t forget that it’s all about love after all! <3 <3 <3 (Took me forever to figure those out!)

I once met a woman during some afternoon wine, who looked a lot like Zooey. I didn’t hesitate to tell her that, and she considered that to be the highest compliment. Turned out Zooey is the number one “girl-crush” out there! Yes, girls have crushes too!

I’ve been to her concert at Terminal 5, and she was more than amazing! Unfortunately my camera died, so there are no videos, but here is one of my fav songs by her!
