Can you believe the weekend is finally here? Even though I only had a 3 day work week, I am exhausted! I guess it’s time to spill the beans and share the big, life changing news. Starting this September, I will be a full-time student at the University of Minnesota. I got my acceptance letter last Saturday. Field of study – Retail Merchandising. I am pretty psyched, especially for all the math!

It’s huge! I am almost 28, going back to school, quitting my job, with so far my blog being the only source of income. To be 100% honest, this is like going to first grade. Sam is busy picking out a new laptop for me. I am busy deciding on when to quit.

Of course I’ve set goals, and there are goals beyond my reach, I have always been like that. Setting crazy huge goals, and now it’s up to me to achieve them. I hope you stick around with me on this journey, because believe it or not, this blog and I are in a committed relationship!

Let’s hope I graduate before I am 30!

Happy Saturday and I hope you enjoy my outfits!

How was your week? I know I had a blast! From that daisy romper that I bought on Tuesday, to the fact that everyone thought it was pajamas, to then you all telling me on Twitter and Instagram that you love it, and that I should keep it! The verdict is: I am keeping it!

Thursday was probably the highlight of my week, when we went to the Walker, Sculpture Garden and Brit’s Pub with my friend Michelle. She was an awesome first house guest. And we had a blast! The Hopper exhibit at the Walker is by far the best one I’ve seen there. Maybe because it’s from The Whitney Museum, and whatever comes from New York, I am automatically bias? But to be 100% honest, I love early 1900 art. But can’t stand the neon vaginal or penal installations that people like to call modern art these days. So definitely go check out the exhibit! I am sure you’ll love it!

Another week has come and gone, and this was a tough one. Sam’s grandma passed away, and even though we all know and feel that she is in a much much better place, and what’s more important, with the one she loved her whole life, Bob, it’s still hard oh the family.

I had a very hard time at work. The last two days have been from hell. I don’t know if it’s something in the water, but I am starting to lose my patience, and the best parts of my days are spent in bed or on the couch. I haven’t really worked out in days! And that’s not typically me.

I also went back to juicing. Mainly to go through all the vegetables in the fridge, so now almost all my recipes include carrots or celery. But once I am through with them, I’ll go back to Costco for more exciting combos.

Summer is looking more exciting than I expected. We are starting it off by getting new siding for our house (it still has the original 1950’s wooden tile) during Memorial Day weekend. Then we are road tripping to Milwaukee for a fun and exciting Midwest Bloggers event called Blogger Bazaar! And another road trip to my friend’s wedding in Colorado in July, we’ll be staying and hiking there for about a week afterwards. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Chicago trip in August! And grateful for Sam who is on board with me when it comes to all these trips.

And tomorrow we get to go somewhere new and exciting for our family! So keep and eye on my Instagram. If you follow me on Twitter, you know what it is! But since it’s not my news to tell, I am going to stop, wish you all a great Saturday and invite you to link up your outfit posts!

Another week in outfits is here, and once again I managed to skip out on a day! This time I’m missing out a Friday look. But if you read my Thrift Style Thursday post you’ll know that I recently scored a pair of overalls at Ragstock for only $10. That’s what I wore on Friday.

Tuesday’s outfit was also a backup. I was in downtown Minneapolis meeting with Josi and learning about her Kickstarter campaign. After our meeting I went and grabbed a coffee at Caribou, which I then successfully spilt all over my outfit. Yeah, it was one of those days.

Wednesday was PJs day at work, so I wore yoga pants all day! Don’t we all need days like this?

How was your week? Do you have an outfit you want to share? Link it up below, and I’ll make sure to check it out!

Happy Saturday, and welcome to my new weekly wear series. Every Saturday morning I will be here, showing you what I wore that week. Showing you, how my daily style changes throughout weeks, months, seasons. This will also be a link up, a chance for you to show some of your weekly outfits. Who is excited?

Apparently this week started on Tuesday, since I completely forgot to photograph the Monday outfit. Plus I wanted to make it interesting and not have the same background or pose. Thursday look was also featured in this post. But I think Friday one is my favorite. I have officially mastered layering.

I guess the theme for this week’s Weekly Wear is I thrifted it, I wore it. The Madewell top and Tommy Hilfiger jacket were thrifted on Tuesday. The black jeans from Friday look and Striped top from Thursday were my steals at the $1 Earth Day sale at Buffalo Exchange. The jeans are actually high waisted, and I promise to style them with a crop top sometime soon! I was ecstatic when I fit into them on Friday morning. It literally made my day.

Florals and Flare

Gap flare trouser pants – thrifted, Merona grey cardigan – thrifted, Mossimo black booties,
American Rag top – Macy’s, BeingZhenya necklace – ONecklace.com, Watch – Marc by Marc Jacobs,
Lucky Sunnies – TJMaxx

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful outside and I couldn’t NOT spend at least half of my day in the park. It’s very easy when you have my job. I might have caught a little sun on my nose as well!

I sort of fell for the flare trend again, and was specifically shopping for wide bottom jeans last Sunday at Goodwill. I am so glad these cost only $4.50. They are truly magical, like in that Sisterhood series, they make my legs look so skinny, I love the visual illusion and silhouette they create. And I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my pants before.

Too 70’s? What do you think about flare?

Monochrome Me {Thrift Style Thursday}

Dressed-in-red

This red dress won by popular vote and by default, based on what you said on Twitter anyways. I do have more red items in my wardrobe these days, especially after my last thrift haul. And when Monochrome theme Thrift Style Thursday came around, I thought to myself, why not go all red? I know it may seem like too much, but I am also showing ways and offering tips on how to tone it down, so sit tight!

Red-Monochrome-Outfit

The dress is Calvin Klein, size 4P, I am lucky like that, I can pull of petites. But of course this dress is sleeveless, which makes it so much easier. It also creates a nice waistline, thanks to the cut. And the best part is – it was brand new from Goodwill for only $8.99.

The shoes have already been featured in last week’s Thrift Style Thursday post, and I am madly in love with them! They are a darker shade of red, which helps create some contrast, unlike the clutch. Yes, the clutch matches the dress in color almost to a T. I won it in a giveaway over 3 years ago. I wish I used it more often.

Not so sure about the whole red thing? Throw a different colored blazer on top and/or put on another pair of shoes. Trust me it makes all the difference? Want to see?

If “50 shades of grey” and song “If I were a boy” had a love child, that would be this outfit!

I’ve been on a grey craze lately. But when you feel the softness of this cashmere scarf, and the warmth of the vintage wool blazer, and realize the coolness of the DIY beanie, it all falls in place and the world is at peace.

Meanwhile inside the house, I’ve been working on adding to the decor. I finally framed this gorgeous print by Rebecca Plotnik.

Having been in search for inner peace, I have realized that I am often stressed and irritated in my own home. I’m putting a stop to that and cutting off anyone and everyone who is bringing stress into my life.

My love for coffee is obvious and never ending, and it only made sense to combine it with my other passion – social media. Sunday afternoon I got together with Lindsey of Mavatar, to talk Blogging, Shopping, Styling and Olympics! Uncommon Grounds on Hennepin and 28th is one of my favorite places, and I love meeting all of you, my social media friends! So if you are ever in town, don’t hesitate to tweet me!

Happy Monday! I’m bummed out school isn’t closed today, but what can I do?

Radiant Orchid {Thrift Style Thursday}

The number one perk of this color is that wearing it, no one will take you for a wall flower. Not that it’s my problem anyways. I like to stand out. Though last week, during my stay in New York, I was more or less blending in. I will share more about that later. Here is my thought. Whatever makes you happy, whatever makes you smile, wear that! I love this thrifted top, it was brand new when I bought it last year (isn’t that amazing how I can say last year even though it was only a few days ago?) and even though it’s more purple than radiant orchid, who sets the rules anyways?
