In search of the evening light last night, I came to realize, that blogging for me has become a self-expression, a form of finding myself. I am going through a vintage stage again. And I think this time around it’s here to stay for a little while longer.

This dress is everything. It’s flirty, fun, chic, boho, cute, quirky. I had to have it. I had to wear it. And then the cowboy boots, that Midwest mark, even though I bought them in New York. And the city of Milan printed tights. And that purple Ted Baker bag that was the very first giveaway that I won. A lot of my clothes tell a story. What story do your clothes tell about you?

Thrifting for Treasure: My Latest Steeple People Thrift Haul

Steeple People will probably be my favorite, number one, go to store when it comes to a thrifting quickie! It’s only 10 minutes away from my house (WALKING!), the prices are incredibly reasonable, and there is always a great chance of scoring something vintage! They also carry fabrics, which is what I was looking for!

I ended up walking away with a bag full of stuff, which included Corso Como boots, a vintage dress, and 3 pieces of fabric, one of which has already been transformed into something amazing!

Here are the fabrics:

50 cents of wool

2012-12-02 16.51.55

$3 of black and navy blue fabrics ($1.50 each, though the navy blue one has more yards!)

A $6 pair of Corso Como black leather boots! I wasn’t going to get them, but after looking the brand up on my phone (another reason to have a smart phone when thrifting!) and seeing how much those would’ve cost me at Nordstrom, I couldn’t put them down!

And finally a $2 100% silk Anne Crimmins for Umi Collections dress (it will be featured in one of my upcoming refashion posts), and I am already putting together outfits featuring this dress in my head 🙂

That’s all I got! What did you like/dislike from my haul? Did you go thrifting this weekend? If so, what did you get! Please leave links below 🙂

Have a great Tuesday!

My Vintage Collection – Part 3 – Jewelry and Purses

This is the last post about my vintage collection. Today I’ll show you some jewelry and purses that I acquired, hope you enjoy them!

1. Brooches and Pins. These are all vintage. The one on the bottom right is

missing a stone, I just need to buy one, and glue it in! The one on the top right is a pin I usually wear on my hand-made Italian coat that I got at a garage sale in Murray Hill for $1. The apple pin was a perfect find for me, because I work as a teacher. I wonder when my Grandma got them all?

2. Earrings and Pins. All earrings are gold, which of course makes them even more special.

Now I’m not so certain gem-wise, I need to go get them appraised. Pay attention to the pin on the top right – I love the green of the flower (as one of my fellow vintage lovers noticed – I love florals, and flowers, and basically everything that has to do with them!)

3. Bracelet. I know that this bracelet is definitely from the 80’s, it used to belong to my mom.

4. Purses.

5. Uncategorized

A vintage shirt that makes you want to sing “I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike…”

A beige jacket.

A one size fits all kind of white top with a vintage necklace

And a “paper bag” skirt

Love and Lace Flowers,
