It’s Okay to Look: Van Mildert

I often find myself looking at clothes that are carried in stores outside of the US. I do believe that European fashion is somewhat different, and even though globalization’s got the best of this industry, there are still some differences and it’s totally okay to look!

Today I am going to look at Van Mildert, a chain of stores in the North of England (similar to our Nordstrom) with fashion, innovative product and lifestyle. I think UK was an obvious choice here regarding Kate Middleton and her perfect style! Catering for both men and women, these stores offer fashion across many platforms to the style and image conscious. Since 1996 they’ve been encapsulating all that is new and exciting within the fashion industry and showcase this product under one roof alongside some of the strongest and most relevant collections in the world. All stores offer a wide variety of collections to suit the broad clientele and are spilt across sections catering for young fashion, branded fashion, concept design, and premium sportswear.

But enough talking let’s do some looking 😉 That’s what we are here for after all! I was looking for fall 2013 and the first thing that I’ve noticed and really liked was the fact that every item is clearly labeled whether it’s the new collection or not! Thumbs up for that!

You can tell I am putting an outfit together here, can you not? 😉

I also think this Vivienne Westwood short coat would be perfect for fall:

UGGS just got a lot more appealing!

Surprised? Me too! Just as much as you are! Especially if you know how I feel about them! Did you know that there is a new UGGS fall collection that’s actually pretty warm and stylish? You simply have to check it out because it’s on HEELS!

So I browsed around, and picked my fav styles! Who knows, maybe I’ll even get a pair or two sometime in the next few years. Right now my boots collection is a little over the top!

Here are my top picks from the collection, I also think that all the other UGGS are UGGly! So there, I am still kind of holding strong to my original opinion!

Meet Sofia – lace up boot, and I am simply loving the heel!

This would be perfect with a skirt, or a pair of jeans!

Here is Lillian and Josie, I think they are a lot alike, maybe even sisters?

I love how Lillian looks a lot like a clog on the bottom, that means it’s going to be super comfy! Plus the chunky heels are not only in, but better for support than stilettos.

This guy is all leather and it costs like leather – I think one of the most expensive boot in the collection – $995 – Cavalieri

Cavalieri on a heel is called Aniela, in spite of the added height, the price is just like of the one closer to the ground!

I am not a big fan of the next one, but I want to give a shout out to all of my girls in New Jersey! She even has an Italian name – Giorgina!

So ladies, if you are considering getting UGGS for the fall/winter season, consider these, not those:

Because those ones, don’t under any circumstances elongate your lags, or make you look appealing to a viewer’s eye! They simply make you look frumpty and dwarfy!

Xo you all, going thrifting now!

Becoming more Feminine

I know I am already feminine, I wear dresses and heels, and put on make-up every day, but today while I was at SPSS on South Lyndale Ave, I decided that I need more girlyness in my life.

So how do I do that?

1. First of all – I am not going to wear T-shirts anymore, the kind that looks like this:

I actually wore the exact same shirt today, lol! These shirts are only going to be left in my closet for one reason – to work out! Even when you go to sleep – wear some sexy pajamas.

2. No baggy, loose pants or boyfriend jeans.

I have a pair of loose Ralf Lauren shorts size 4 which I freecycled back in NYC, and my husband hates them. Today he told me that my butt looks big in them 🙂 That’s his way of telling me to get rid of those shorts.

Mine are the same style, but navy blue. My advice is to simply wear pants that fit! Also a tip – Boyfriend jeans look good on girls with flat butts (seriously) – if you have curves – don’t be afraid to show them!

3. Accessorize!

Scarves, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets are going to be your best friend. And remember Coco Chanel’s famous quote – “take one thing off before leaving the house”!

4. Say good bye to ugly shoes (flip-flops from Old Navy or other cheap stores – leave those for the beach). FYI – UGGS are ugly too, in fact I think UGG is a derivative from UGLY. Besides they don’t support the arch of your foot, and that’s not good!

5. Make-up is your best friend, and the older you get, the more helpful it becomes:)

Also check out these YouTube gurus, especially their make-up tutorials, pay attention to the before and then after 🙂

6. Make sure you take time to groom yourself – hair, skin and body need to be in top shape! I do know some girly girls who let themselves go, and then they become fat and ugly, and all the cuteness is gone. I am sorry, but it’s true. So invest some money into regular hair cuts, skin care products and good tennis shoes.

And remember – investing money into beauty procedures isn’t just the celebrities’ prerogative – you can do it too, and you can do it on a budget! There are plenty of beauty recipes on a budget!

I hope you all have a fabulous night, tomorrow I am going to blog about staying fit without going to the gym – and some foods that keep me skinny!
