Adam Lippes Buffalo plaid collection hits Target stores today. If you are like me, you’ve been stalking the collection on line for at least a week. I’ve also been reading different guides and looking through everyone’s favorite looks on their blogs. The round ups are pretty cool, I have to say I am excited to shop the collection. Rachel and I are shopping it together, so make sure to follow us on social media and learn what we find, try on and keep/toss!
Sam and I had an incredible 4 day weekend. Thursday we went to campus, and oh my goodness how I missed it! We went to all three campuses, took the connector to St Paul, because I wanted Sam to see my campus, and because I wanted to go to Lori’s for coffee.
It definitely feels good to be a senior, but the realization hasn’t hit me yet. I love school, being on campus (even though I don’t live on campus) and seeing my friends. And I know it will be hard for me to leave, but I’m going to enjoy my last year to the fullest.
This semester I’ll be busy with 18 credits, and two internships, I’m staying with Verizon for a while, as well as continuing my Style Guru escapades with CollegeFashionista. This semester I will also be a social media inter at CF, so keep an eye out for all the awesome #stylegurulove posts on my Instagram.
Target collaborations can be a hit or miss. But if you’ve been shopping them for a while, you know which ones to shop, and which ones to skip. Having set my alarm for 7.30 am the night before, I was seriously planning on being at the store in my pajamas by 8 am! (That’s what I did for the last collaboration – Philip Lim). And then the snooze button happened. To make the long story short, I didn’t make it to the store until after 4 pm. I’ll be honest, I expected to see a sad piece hanging all by itself on a rack, but, to my surprise, it was all there! Well, maybe not all of it, but a lot of it. Now, some of you know I am participating in the Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, so you are probably wondering why am I spending all this money in retail? There is a loop hole in our challenge, or an exception if you want to call it that. You are allowed to use gift cards. And that’s exactly what I did!
Today I am only going to show you the skirt. It was one piece I wasn’t sure about. Styling it can be challenging. But the pockets sold me! As you could probably guess, I am hoping to buy the top that goes with it, also seen on Diane Krueger, later when the collection goes on sale.
And now a little on the quality, selection and such! First of all the entire collection is mostly polyester, it’s made in China. Personally, the black, yellow, blue and white color palette was a little off. Less structured pieces, looked baggy and unflattering. I also wish that when creating such collections, the designers would show us how to style pieces. Yes, it’s fun to be all dressed in Peter Pilotto, but?
What did you think of this collaboration? Did you buy anything? How are you styling it?
I have been looking for a thrift/style blogger to collaborate with for a while, but it’s really hard to do when the person who approaches you (or vice versa) doesn’t read your blog. But that’s not the case with Martyna of Spoolish and me. We’ve been blogging buddies for a while now. I think it’s our passion and love for thrifting that brought us together, as well as our Easter European heritage 😉 She even interviewed me for her blog a few months ago, that was a big honor for me!
We are going to make this a weekly post on both of our blogs, and depending on how it goes, planning on starting link-up parties for our fellow thrift and style bloggers! Hopefully you guys will want to join in!
Our first item is a summer dress, and how to style it for fall:
Since I’m a firm believer that maxi dresses are a fashionista’s version of sweat pants, I decided to style a maxi dress, throw in some bold jewelry and definitely add a chunky sweater. I am a huge fan of wool, because it’s a warm and cozy material, that doesn’t retain unwanted odors. I also threw in some wedge booties, and viola! My stylish, thrifted, fall outfit is ready!
I am wearing: Mossimo Maxi Dress – thrifted, Ann Taylor sweater – thrifted, Black Wedge booties Enzo Angiolini – thrifted, Being Zhenya necklace from oNecklace, thrifted bracelets and necklaces, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch. My lipstick is Bobbi Brown in shade Slopes.
Have you also noticed my “Being Zhenya” necklace? Thanks to oNecklace I am now able to wear my blog around my neck 🙂
And you can get one too on their website, plus you can get 10% off when you use code GIFT at checkout!
Don’t forget to check out Martyna’s post on Spoolish.com!
Have a great Thursday and please let us know if you like the link up idea!

A couple weeks ago I went up north and stayed with some friends in a cabin. Surprisingly enough I pulled off wearing a dress even up there! Here is the proof 😉
Dress: Target (my little shopping therapy after a rough day at work! Yes, even toddler teachers have hard days!), Belt: Target
I also got to meet neighbor’s dog! Isn’t she something?
And watch sunset on the dock:
But I have to admit, my favorite part of the day was getting to see and hang out with this child:
I love you, Ingrid! I can’t believe you are almost 3!
I hope you all had a great weekend! I won a gift card from Marshall’s through their Project Fab on Facebook and have been spending that, so new outfit posts to come! As well as some DIY’s! Only if Marshall’s sold paint… sigh
Until next time,
All pictures were taken with my Nokia Lumia phone provided by Verizon! It was really helpful this time around, I shared Internet with my friends, took awesome pictures and even finished The Mindy Project on Hulu!

I have done it, I have found the perfect mustard pants! And since I didn’t know what to wear them with today I went for my Ralph Lauren denim shirt. It’s my go-to shirt for almost every occasion, a comfort cloth of sorts! I used to have another “comfort cloth” piece of clothing before that, a gray American Rag cardigan I got at Macy’s a long long time ago! I think it’s still there somewhere in the depths of my closet in Russia!
Do you have any items in your closet that are like this? Let me know, would love to hear what everyone else is obsessing with!
I am wearing:
Shoes – Target // Pants – NoBo (don’t judge now, nothing wrong with a WalMart brand!) – thrifted
Denim Shirt – Ralph Lauren // Sunnies – Lucky The Weekender // Necklace – GoFavor.com //
Watch – Marc by Marc Jacobs
Also, check out my latest thrift haul (I will admit, I was too lazy to take pics of everything, so I took a video instead)
Happy Tuesday everyone!
I’ve recently heard that if you want to see all of the latest fashion trends – go to Forever 21 – that’s where you’ll find them! And that’s true – everywhere you look in that store – you see something different and stylish, plus they have some classy pieces as well! I don’t really shop there that often, so those of you who thought I was now promoting for F21, think again! I did go in there during my trip to Chicago, simply because it was a free standing store! If some of you don’t know, I hate malls, just hate going inside, shopping there is too much for me (I wonder if you fellow thrifters have the same problem?), anyways, the one thing that I saw and liked was the denim vest, and besides if Jessica Alba can rock hers, why can’t I rock mine? Besides I saw this trend later featured on Chic Trends and I personally think it’s awesome!

The only problem was – I didn’t have one! So I went off to Salvation Army in the Warehouse district and found a Ralph Lauren one for $6! Just to compare, Forever 21 vests retail for at least $20! My original plan was (if I didn’t find the vest) to get a jacket and chop the sleeves off!
But here it is, my denim vest and the outfit I put together! We also went to Walker where my mother in law is a tour guide, so I got my very own personal tour of the two newest exhibits! Thank you, Sandra!
Shoes and Tights – Target // Shorts – New Yorker// Sweater – AX (thrifted)//
Denim Vest – Ralph Lauren (thrifted) // Bag – Vintage Kenneth Cole
Sunnies – Lucky The Weekender//Necklaces – H&M, Express//
Bracelets – SJP’s Bitten, H&M, VIntage //Earrings – Vintage

Happy Monday everyone!
PS. I can’t get over the pictures my new Samsung Galaxy camera takes! What do you think?
