Thrift Style Thursday Schoola

Thrift Style Thursday Schoola

Can you believe it’s June 30th’s already? I am so happy that Thrift Style Thursday link up has been going strong for almost a month! I love checking out everyone’s posts, so keep them coming.¬†I wanted to share my recent collaboration with Schoola today. Schoola is a secondhand online shop that offers clothing for women, men and children. It benefits schools in the US and the Malala Fund internationally. In fact, 40% of all the proceeds go to benefit children’s education. They have a wide variety of brands, sizes and prices! Plus you can donate to Schoola for free by requesting a bag, to learn more, click here.

Since Schoola was kind to provide me with a few pieces, I can’t wait to be sharing them with you over the next few weeks!

I wore this Land’s End shirt dress a couple days ago when we went to Mickey’s Diner in downtown Saint Paul. Sam wanted to have dinner there before his trip to Germany. So if you know where Mickey’s is, you’ve probably seen this store front nearby. My obsession with everything New York City will never stop, besides there was a No Nonsense sign in the window, so I had to take a photo there!

And now for the link up!

My Milly

Last Monday I went to the very first Minnesota Blogger Bash. It was one of those rare times that I got to go to St Paul. Having lived in Minneapolis the whole time I’ve been in Minnesota, I rarely go to visit the other twin. The best part about going to St Paul and the meet up was car pooling with Tamara of Champagne and Macaroons, and Jess of Mimi and Chichi.

And of course I needed a new outfit for the event. Luckily I had Monday off and stopped by Opitz on Excelsior Blvd. If you’ve never been there, and you are reading this post, you need to go there now! It’s an amazing Outlet here in the Cities (there is another location in Minnetonka, which I don’t like as much to be honest). But they have all possible and impossible designer clothing there for a fraction of the cost. I scored this Milly dress for $30, and splurged on a Zac Posen dress that was $70.

Blogger Bash was amazing, I always enjoy hanging out with new and old blogger friends. And I really appreciate everyone who stops by to say hi! You make my day!

Did you come to the party? What did you think?

PS. A couple spoilers for the upcoming posts – My new favorite lipstick, 4th of July post featuring Sam (!!!), and why I never want to be a full time blogger ūüėČ

TC Style Magazine Cover + Christmas Colors

This winter I get to be on the cover of TC Style Magazine. TC stands for Twin Cities. My friend Jasmine is the Editor-in-chief, and we’ve been planning this since summer! But she surprised me by putting me on the cover! Jasmine is a sweetheart, she loves and looks like Taylor Swift, and told me yesterday that she is going to New York City over New Years, flying in New Years Eve and leaving New Years Day, they are not staying anywhere, no hotel reservations. How awesome is that? Here is me keeping my fingers crossed for spring break! A lot will depend on the next few weeks. Plus I am waiting to get my grades back, so the browser refreshing game is on and it’s strong!

The magazine is free and local and you can find it in the boutiques around the area.

I also have several festive nail polish options for you this holiday season. They are all SinfulColors which is a chic and affordable brand made in the US. The nail polish is very long lasting and  this season Рpretty glittery! The colors I have here are Twilight Twinkles, Galax-Sea, Hottie, and Ice Dream.

Train Ride

2014-08-18 14.55.48

Last Friday we took a train to St Paul. The green line has been up for a couple months now, and that’s the train I’ll be taking to the U every day for the next two years of my life, so I was more than excited to check it out.

Why were we headed to St Paul? To check out Mickey’s Diner. If you’ve seen Mighty Ducks, you know what I’m talking about.

The diner, the food and the downtown St Paul are definitely charming, and small. I fell in like. I am glad you are only a train ride away now, St Paul.

Twin Cities Travlin’: MIA and Lyndale Rose Gardens

discover-twin-cities

Welcome to Twin Cities Travels. Brought to you by Jameson of Lessons with Coffee and yours truly. Today’s post will be a two in one! Our first Twin Cities Tuesday was spent at MIA (Minneapolis Institute of Art –¬†2400 3rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55404), and last week we went to Lyndale Rose Gardens.¬†

Originally, Jameson and I were going to simply hang out, but then thought, why not blog about it? So here we go!

Minneapolis Institute of Art has been one of those places I’ve never been to. Can you believe it? I still can’t to be completely honest. And since it’s a donation based admission (FREE!) I didn’t have to think about it twice.

We grabbed some coffee at Spyhouse on Nicolette Ave (Spy Girl is my current favorite) and walked over to MIA. The neighborhood it’s located in is a sight in itself, from the brownstones, to the carousel horse fence, to the zebra hiding in the bushes. I felt like a tourist in my own city.

I discovered Lyndale Rose Gardens last year right on my Birthday, when Sam and I were walking around Lake Harriet. And I knew I wanted to go back there. I was also extremely interested in seeing Peace (Rock) Garden. And since I almost always have to stand out, I had to wear a “new” dress I got from Minneapolis Blogger Sale, which I thought was perfect, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I make hiking in a dress look as easy as 1-2-3!

We also made origami paper cranes, also known as peace cranes. I carry mine in my wallet now, I am not sure about peace, but it definitely makes me happy.

And we now have our very own #tct water bottles, that Jameson made. This week I am working on a little DIY as well.

I hope you had a great 4th of July. I was lighting fireworks all night!
