Today’s post is all about nail polish. Specifically about the Sally Hansen Magnetic nail color that I received in my summer vox box. So I guess this is sort of a review. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting too much from this product. If MAC and NARS nail polishes chipped on me on the same day, the next day at most, I was ready to add this product to the – one day oh so not long lasting nail polishes. But in spite all of the chipping, this nail polish is actually fun! Especially if you are into science experiments.
So here is what I started off with:
The instructions on how to use the nail polish are on the back:
You are going to need a base coat for this though, so I used my Revlon one, pretty much the only one that I had:
Then you remove the top lid with the magnet:
And apply a thin coat of SH Magnetic Nail Color:
Then you are going to go over the 1st coat with a second, thicker one, and right after you apply it to one nail, you gotta hold the magnet over it for about 10 seconds. There is a guide on the lid, that you are supposed to place right below the cuticle, so that makes it easier, but you still gotta count to 10!
And then you end up with this:
So I thought this was kind of cool, not a very summer color, but okay. And honestly, the first time I tried this, I totally screwed it up. I don’t know how it was possible, but I did. It’s looking better now, but my thumbs aren’t wavy all the way, and my left hand is more wavy than my right. I hope that makes sense!
Have you tried this? What’s your favorite color? And are you willing to spend almost $10 on this? (I am glad I got to try this for free, I don’t know if I would’ve bought one for myself, even with a $1 off coupon at Target, it’s still pricey for nail polish)
xo,
Z
