Swan Lake

Last Sunday I celebrated one of my friends’ Birthdays at Pinstripes, in Edina. They have an amazing brunch there! And of course we took a walk around Centennial Lakes Park afterwards. It was one of those odd get togethers, where you are the only one in the group who is not a mom. Everyone who was there had at least 1 child and another on the way. Of course the inevitable question of “When are you going to have kids?” came up. But I am still undecided on that subject, and with going to college full-time in the fall, and then starting a career afterwards is more important to me now. Selfish? I know.

To create this black and white outfit: I wore my newly thrifted H&M dress, and Forever 21 accessories. And you can’t forget the Free People tote!

St Patrick’s Day Outfit Ideas

Whether you are dressing up for a night out with friends, or just a celebration in the office, St Patrick’s day has made it’s way into our daily lives even if you are not Irish. Green is a great color, but you don’t want to overdo it. So we are going to keep it classy, but flirty and fun at the same time.

Personally for me, getting dressed up for a holiday is definitely something I’ve gotten a hang of since I moved to the US. And even though I am definitely not Irish, here are two St Patrick’s Day outfits that I have put together for you (originally posted on the Goodwill MN blog)

The first outfit is based around an emerald green button down shirt, worn tucked in, under a blazer. It’s a perfect look for work. The large amount of green can be overbearing; it is, after all, a bright and bold color. By concealing the shirt under a striped blazer, you are still showing Sr Patrick’s Day spirit without being too “in-your-face.”

The second look is all about fun and flirty. It’s a variation of the whole “Kiss me I’m Irish” slogan. After all, you want to be kissed for the right reasons – not because your T-shirt says so. I added the golden jewelry to both of these looks, because – who knows? – you might just find your pot of gold on St Patrick’s Day! Not too sure about the whole holiday thing? Or green is just not your color? It’s always a safe bet to go with accessories, or make up. Green nail polish is also a huge hit!
