More and more often I come to a realization that soon I will need a new camera soon. I like what I currently have, but I am often not satisfied with the picture quality. And I would love to get a new camera before my spring break, which we are planning on spending in New York City.

Having asked my blogger friends, I discovered that a lot, if not most of them use Canon. So I did some research, and here is what I learned about The Canon EOS Rebel T5i.

Summers are exciting and fun. My summers are full of activities. Every day brings something new and challenging, every day I push myself a little more. I will admit, sometimes I do regret not spending a couple extra hours in bed, sleeping, relaxing, or reading a book. But summer is the time to be active. Summers here are spent on the go, and I don’t want my period to get in the way. Among pads, tampons and other feminine care products available on the market today, Stayfree always stood out, and has been my go to brand since New York City days.

I would spend all day running around Manhattan, attending events, meeting with friends, going for walks, runs or bike rides, and never have to second guess Stayfree Ultra Thin Regular.

When the same brand came out with Stayfree Overnight pads, I knew I could cross off another concern off my list.

Now, no matter whether I am running around at work, or getting ready to jump back into college life, or being a tourist in my own town working on Twin Cities Travelin’ post, I know Stayfree won’t let me down.

Stayfree Ultra Thin regular and Stayfree Overnight are available at Walmart, and what’s even better now is a $5 Walmart eGift card reward will be given to you when you buy any 3 products – Stayfree, Carefree, or o.b. – so stock up, ladies! I will be honest, I am finally getting the hang of shopping at Walmart. And the products that I purchased will last me a few months. So it’s a win-win on my end.

Back to Basics: Black

2014-01-04 22.49.33

One of my goals for 2014 is investing into timeless pieces, that won’t go out of style. And black is one of my go-to colors. I guess it all started with my retail job back a few years ago, when I had no choice, but wear it. My New York trip wouldn’t have been complete without some thrifting! I got this Talbots black dress on the Upper East Side at the Arthritis Foundation thrift store (1430 3rd ave) at 75%! And as far as timeless, I think it goes!

“Nothing inspires me more than people”, is what I usually say. But nothing, nothing inspires me more than the city. “Hi, honey” – is what came out of my heart flying over Manhattan. Can someone please explain the feelings and emotions that I have? Because I can’t put them in words. I can put them in the images, and share them with you, and hopefully through this post, you will feel inspired too!

“I miss New York” post

Sometimes Minneapolis just gets to me, all these women who wear see through pants and bright colored underwear, men who look like they came from a conveyor belt, patches of colored hair on dogs and people…

That’s when I look back at my life in NYC, sigh and promise myself that I am going to move back there someday.

And to help you understand what I miss, here are the photos and the outfits:

1. I miss the bull on Broadway, miss watching tourists take craziest pictures with it, and it’s balls, miss looking at it from the 8th floor of the building where I took my math class…

2. Miss hanging out with my girlfriend in Central Park, miss asking random (Russian) strangers to please take our picture, miss wearing my Converse, miss that pair of jeans…

3. Miss the fact that I could go into an H&M, buy a dress, change into it at the Grand Central Station, and rock it for the rest of the day exploring Columbia University and the UWS… My husband misses my blond hair (that’s for sure)

4. Miss going out, borrowing my friend’s clothes, miss Marquee, the best place to go dancing…

5. Miss going to Brighton Beach in the freezing cold weather, miss that Brooklyn Library with all the homeless people…

6. Miss Brooklyn Bridge, and not wearing make up in the winter…

7. Miss my Slovakian girls, miss this place, where some guy came up to me and said I looked too intelligent for this club…

8. Miss dressing up for a walk in the park, miss Alice, miss Twinkle Twinkle little bat…

9. Miss the reservoir, and all laps I walked/ran around it…

10. Miss “reading magazines” on a Sunday night in Central park… Look closer and you’ll see what kind of magazines I am talking about 😉

11. Miss going out – AGAIN – that you can never get enough of! Miss walking home all by myself through the meat packing district and not getting mugged or raped, miss taking Subway at 4 am, miss being the only person walking from 79th and Broadway to 82 and Central Park West

There are oh so many more things I miss about being in NYC, I can’t wait to go back, and one day I will, and everyone is going to know that I am back!

What do you miss in your life right now?

Rehearsal Dinner Outfit

So it’s been a few days since the wedding and the rehearsal dinner, but I kinda feel like bragging about my rehearsal dinner outfit. I apologize for bragging in advance, but if you are a vintage lover like me, you’ll understand why 🙂

So here is what I wore (I am the one on the right, in case you were wondering):

So let me break this down for you: top – Banana Republic – freecycled in NYC, belt- also freecycled in NYC, skirt – vintage Sophisticates by Pendleton – $1.99 – Salvation army. Too bad my Etra clutch isn’t in any of these pics, but it’s in my previous post. Now I wore all this with this pair of shoes from Target (these were my emergency shoes that I bought when my sandals broke in the middle of the street, and they go amazingly well with this outfit)

The shoes were on Clearance for about $13, I believe. Now the total outfit comes down to $16, not bad for a rehearsal dinner, I think 🙂

Tomorrow I will let you in on another secret about the skirt!

PS. Our rehearsal dinner was held at Buce di Beppo – amazing place if you ask me!
