Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream Review

Having been in love with multiple BB creams, let’s just say they work great for my skin. I was intrigued by the new CC products that kept popping up left and right! And the first CC cream that I tried, aside from the samples in the store, was this Studio Gear Hydrating one.

CC stands for Color Correcting. And that’s just what I need. Back in my high school/college years I used to have a lot of serious acne that left some scars. And even though oil pulling has greatly helped my skin condition, I still wanted a cover up, that would look good and feel good.

This product promises:

Hydrating CC Cream transforms and enhances your complexion in an incredibly light, smooth formula. This foundation simultaneously fights aging, retains moisture, and covers and treats blemishes with a non-oily, perfectly radiant finish.

Key Benefits:

Prevents fine lines and wrinkles with collagen-building ingredients
Restores skin elasticity by promoting moisture retention
Brightens and illuminates skin with a non-oily, complete coverage application

Not too bad right? So let’s see what it did to my skin!

I have been using the CC cream for over a month now, I had a travel size sample before committing to the larger version. Let me explain a bit. Even though I got this product for free, for example this one was powered by BrandBacker, I often decline offers to try or test a certain item, because I already have so many of the similar item. I know free is appealing and good, but who needs 10 foundations or blushes? That’s why before I accept products for review, I think twice!

I also like the hydrating feature. Since I wake up really early, sometimes when I do my makeup I’m not completely awake yet, and I forget to put on moisturizer. Yeah… So this is a great way for me to keep my skin hydrated, even if I mess my beauty routine up.

In the end of the day, it’s a great product, it does wear off though, but looks and acts great under a layer of powder. SPF factor is also a great plus. But it is pricey and I probably wouldn’t buy it for myself if I had the choice.

Have you tried a CC cream? What are your thoughts on the whole alphabetized skin care products trend?
