Vintage Vest

vintage vest vintage vest vintage vest

This vintage vest is unique, a bit obnoxious, and anything but ordinary. I haven’t braved to wear it to any of my classes or out in public yet, I just need some more time 😉 My friends have called me Pioneer Woman in it, and mentioned that some of the photos are fit for an “Explore North Dakota” billboard campaign. Regardless, this vintage vest is a gem, and I am bringing it to Milwaukee with me!

Meanwhile I am listening to Ophelia by Lumineers on repeat, binge watching Girls at night, and waiting to register for my Accounting class. Happy Wednesday!

Have you heard of Woodbury Lane? It’s my friend Katelyn‘s online store and she has been working so hard on it. It launched today and looks absolutely beautiful!

At Woodbury Lane we believe that great style is defined by pairing simple, quality pieces with a subtle trend.

I know how much work and time and love Katelyn has put into WL, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Set for Spring with Rachel’s Lookbook and Lyst

About a week ago Lyst offered me an exciting opportunity to create a wish list using their app, but there was a twist! The wish list wasn’t for me, it was for my friend Rachel of Rachel’s Lookbook! Rachel and I have been blogger friends, turned real life friends for a few years now, and Lyst helped us treat each other to a special surprise this Valentine’s Day. I know we wouldn’t have been able to make it this fun without them!

So Rachel and I created wish lists for each other, and I must admit, it was very hard not to peek and see what she had on hers. The only thing we exchanged was our sizes! Fortunately enough when your friend is a fashion blogger you get a good sense of their style and taste. I also remembered from a few months ago, when we were talking about Christmas gifts, she mentioned Michael Kors. I knew she loved that brand, so make sure to check out Rachel’s post and see what I surprised her with and the original wish list I created for her.

Rachel did an amazing job picking out my gifts! I got lucky, because everything she ordered came from NastyGal – one of my most favorite online stores! And with all the goodies I got, I am more than ready for spring! I will share more of the pieces and looks on the blog within the next couple of weeks.

I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day and a special someone to spend it with!

Pop of Color – #thriftstylethursday

Today’s #ThriftStyleThursday is also a #ThrowBackThursday to last fall, my first semester at the U and the nice and sunny weather, and a day I spent exploring the area around campus.

I wore this light blue linen wrap dress with bright magenta tights and my favorite olive leather jacket.

This was also the last time I wore this dress. As much as I miss it, it was time to donate it.

Tights are a great way to add a pop of color to any outfit!

Make sure to check out everyone else’s #ThriftStyleThursday posts! Thank you Kristi for coming up with this week’s theme 🙂 Next week we will be styling the Pantone color of the year – marsala!

Minnetonka Orchards

minnetonkaorchards

About a week ago my friend Kara and I went to Minnetonka Orchards, between hot cider and hay rides, we managed to explore the corn maze, make friends with the sheep and take a whole lot of pictures. Growing up I never had an opportunity to go to an orchard like this, mostly because we don’t do that in Russia, so I was trying to catch up. The highlight of my day there was being called a walking page out of Anthropologie catalog, definitely made my day! I’m going to keep walking 😉

There will be a separate post about our very short (about 3 hours) visit to the waterfront and downtown. But I will tell you this – I loved every minute of it, it was a blessed time and I am so glad I went!

More Mod {Thrift Style Thursday} + Announcement + Giveaway

I was really struggling recreating a mod look for today’s thrift style thursday post. Not everyone is Twiggy, and it’s even harder to transform into her sometimes. A few years ago, when I just started my blog, I did this Twiggy inspired makeup look, but today it is full on clothes! So I created two looks, which one is more mod, which one you like the best – you decide!

I am also loving these mod inspired dresses from Shopbop:

February Blogger SWAP

We did it again, we swapped! I love doing blogger swaps and this time around I actually made sure I mailed everything in a timely manner. It’s just so hard to go anywhere when it feels like 30 below outside! Trust me, even going to work is challenging for me in these temps! Where is July?

This time my partner was Feier from Dash of Rose, she has a beautiful DIY and lifestyle blogger, and I loved getting to know her through the swap, because before that I’ve never heard of her blog. (That’s probably the number one reason why I like swaps so much! I get to meet new bloggers from new places!)

Putting the package together was really easy this time around, here is what I sent Feier:

And here is what she sent me:
As you can see we both sent each other hand made clutches, and I absolutely loved the travel size of  my favorite Oscar Blandi dry shampoo! And look at all these zippers! Love them! I am also planning on hanging that elephant trinket up on my Christmas tree this year, meanwhile it’s hanging out by the window in my dining room!
Have you ever done a swap? Did you like it? Would you be interested in doing one in the future?
Here are all the other bloggers who swapped, check out their posts, I know not everyone is posting today, but it’s always good to find new blogs to read 🙂
