Happy Monday! I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving! I feel so fortunate I got to spend it with my friend Kaitlyn and her family!

The rest of this long weekend was spent catching up on reading, blogging and organizing my apartment. I also got to see my friend Jessica and catch up on what’s going on in Minneapolis.

Today’s outfit is a layering masterpiece, at least in my book! I am usually not very good at layering. I find it difficult to find pieces that go together, but this time maybe it’s the bordeaux color that helps me pull it off together.

Once again all the photos are by @kaitlyn.luckow and if you like my outfit, you can shop it or similar pieces below:

And now for the Link Up: The blogger of the week is Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge. Please leave your links below and help us spread the word be it through Twitter, Instagram or Facebook by using hashtag #MondayMode 🙂

Welcome February. It is my least favorite month of the year, good thing it’s a short one, right?

About a week and a half ago I got to visit Heather at Bella on the Bay in Excelsior. Out of all small towns around Lake Minnetonka Excelsior is by far my favorite, and now I get to go there to get my hair done, that is until I move to Wisconsin 😉 but even afterwards I will probably schedule my hair appointments around my trips back to Minnesota. To make a long story short, she did an amazing job with my balayage and I can’t wait to go back for my haircut at the end of the month.

It’s so nice to have a friend at school who will take pictures for you. My friend McCall joined the College Fashionista team, and we got to take some pictures last week between classes. And it has somehow worked out that McCall and I are taking most of our classes together this semester. So much for the U being a big school. Here is to 23 credits my friends!

Trendology Tunic / Zara Coat / Jessica Simpson Boots/ Oak Jeans / H&M sweater and beanie /

The semester is finally coming to an end, one last final today and then winter break! I am so excited for the holidays this year as the presents are piling under the Christmas tree (Sam has outdone himself this year). It’s Mason’s first Christmas with us, and just like during Thanksgiving, I am going to make a big deal out of it.

Style wise, I am all about comfort and layers this winter. We haven’t had much snow in the Cities (which I love), which allows me to layer several pieces, throw on a scarf and somehow still manage to look stylish. I don’t know how this happens these days. I feel like my style game has been off ever since the surgery. My arm still doesn’t fully extend, unfortunately.

Fortunately, I found this Trendology tunic from Good Row Clothing, and it has been my go to piece over the past couple of weeks. There’s been days when I wore the same outfit to classes two or three times in a row. And it only made sense that I built my holiday look around it!

Hope you are all excited for the holidays!

Layers of Fall #ThriftStyleThursday

fallaccessories

Fall has always been about layers for many, and I am no exception. There is something about cozying up in a favorite sweater or scarf. It’s to the point of emotional attachment almost. And I don’t even want to try and explain it.

When fall becomes an accessory, you know you are doing it right!

It’s been a tough September for the Thrift Style Thursday group, but after everyone has reconsidered, we came back together, maybe not such a large group as before, but we are determined to bring you style and love every Thursday! Even if it’s not all thrifted 😉

Spring Casual {Thrift Style Thursday}

Thrift style is affordable, fun and unique. Today’s thrift style thursday is all about a casual, laid back look. And this is what you might spot me wearing on a warm (40F) spring day here in Minneapolis.

Even though spring is still far away from becoming a reality, the snow is melting, and so is my snow phobia. I am not kidding you guys, I thought I was being suffocated by snow banks. Backing out of the driveway was the most dangerous venture I’ve been on since college. And snow dams were nothing out of the ordinary. Plus I am still expecting mother nature (aka winter) to strike back!

But I can literally smell spring coming, everything is melting, and my wardrobe is waiting in anticipation for the warmth. I love styling for spring, as much as I love styling for fall, even a little bit more. Spring to me means summer is just around the corner, and that’s sailing, beaches, friends, and fun.

Styling for spring can be a bit of a challenge though, and I do recommend sticking to layers, especially during those cold weeks of march/april. Here I have a black silk top, under a white silk sweater. My black leather jacket is another perfect spring accessory I am stealing from my fall wardrobe. I added the floral scarf for fun, and trends. Florals are always in.

The jeans, even though they look like boyfriends, are actually skinny, with some natural wear and tear. I rolled them up, because there is nothing wrong with showing off a bit of skin.

Finally bright bold accessories, like this neon pink clutch, and pink Converse are my must haves!

Transformation Nation: Thrifted Vintage Dior Pants into Shorts/Обрезаем винтажные штаны от Диор, делаем шорты

2013-01-31 22.45.02 (1)

It’s happened dear readers – I refashioned an article of clothing for someone other than myself! About a month ago I found a pair of vintage Dior pants, but since they were too small for me, I asked my friend Dominika if she wanted them, besides they were made in Poland, and so was she 🙂

2013-01-31 21.21.37 (1)

The pants are 100% wool, high waisted with pockets and lining. This is what they looked like before:

Then we simply cut them…

2013-01-31 21.24.20 (2)

made a wide hemmed and folded it out to create more dimension. Easy peasy, but looks great and now we just need to decide what to do with the leftover pant legs!

Have a great week everyone!

Cheers,

Z
