It’s Okay to Look: Van Mildert

I often find myself looking at clothes that are carried in stores outside of the US. I do believe that European fashion is somewhat different, and even though globalization’s got the best of this industry, there are still some differences and it’s totally okay to look!

Today I am going to look at Van Mildert, a chain of stores in the North of England (similar to our Nordstrom) with fashion, innovative product and lifestyle. I think UK was an obvious choice here regarding Kate Middleton and her perfect style! Catering for both men and women, these stores offer fashion across many platforms to the style and image conscious. Since 1996 they’ve been encapsulating all that is new and exciting within the fashion industry and showcase this product under one roof alongside some of the strongest and most relevant collections in the world. All stores offer a wide variety of collections to suit the broad clientele and are spilt across sections catering for young fashion, branded fashion, concept design, and premium sportswear.

But enough talking let’s do some looking 😉 That’s what we are here for after all! I was looking for fall 2013 and the first thing that I’ve noticed and really liked was the fact that every item is clearly labeled whether it’s the new collection or not! Thumbs up for that!

You can tell I am putting an outfit together here, can you not? 😉

I also think this Vivienne Westwood short coat would be perfect for fall:

Highs and Lows of the Week

Another week flew by. I noticed how faster the time flies now that I am married. It’s been almost 3 months since I made the BIG move back to the States. Almost 2 months since I’ve been married. Wow, no one ever told me I’d better capture every days memories. I guess one day I’m going to wake up, and I’ll be 30! But isn’t it the age to be?

Anyways, the highlights of the week have been:

1. Getting into the Links a la mod round up on IFB (that’s for Independent Fashion Bloggers – if you didn’t know!)

2. The release of the new iPhone 4S, which I will be getting very soon!

3. My great finds at the warehouse district Salvation Army!

4. TAZO tea, especially it being on sale at Target, and the available coupons, making it really really cheap and worth stocking up on!

5. Tresemme dry shampoo! That has been a life saver! For a someone who has a habit of taking evening showers, this product has been a miracle! It keeps my hair looking clean throughout the day, lasting through the evening! Love it!

Now on to the lows of the week:

1. Death of Steve Jobs

At least there are loving jokes going around Internet about him, and we know he definitely got into Heaven after reading this one!

2. Kate Middleton turning down Vogue cover.

This has been a total bummer for thousands of fashionistas around the world, but she did it, the Duchess of Cambridge declined this offer.

Good thing is, I look so much like her on my new DL, so if Vogue needs a dupe – I’ll do it! Just give me really HIGH heels 😉

The Royal Wedding, Reconsidered!

And the sarcasm of yesterday disappears, as Kate steps out of the car in her wedding dress, her and William say their wedding vows, and depart for the Buckingham Palace!

She traded the hat for the veil and the halo tiara, which I am sure she will trade in for the crown at some point in her life. Beautiful and poised, can’t wait for her to become the Queen!

For now, she has become a new role model for millions of girls all over the world! The flawless skin, the shiny hair…

… never too much make-up, no bright nail polish…

… amazing body (a result of cycling, jogging and workouts with light weights)…

She doesn’t need beauty gurus, she can be one herself! England, you have everything to be proud of! Congratulations!
