Hello loves, i hope you had a great week! I took about a week long break from posting on Instagram, and it felt so great! I know a lot of you missed me, but I am back now. You see this much needed break helped me get my ideas and thoughts together, and I can’t wait to share more of my real life with you, like the no make up post work out Zhenya.

Fun fact, last weekend was my high school reunion. The Russian high school I graduated from in 2003 and sworn to never go back to. And I haven’t really. Partially because I’ve been living here for so long, partially because I hated high school. However there was something inside that was pushing me to go. Of course I wasn’t going to make it, but I wanted to talk to the people I spent 10 years in school with, the people that I wrote and passed notes to in class, the people that shared my hatred for gym class with, the people that pushed me to do better, be better.

I hope you all have people in your life who motivate you and help you better your best! Here is to the memories!

Outfit details: Pleated Midi Skirt – Zara sale ($19.99), Williams Ankle Boot from Free People ($30 on clearance), Ettika chocker, and white vintage sweater ($2.99) – yes, I am back in the thrifting game! I can’t wait to show you more of my thrift and vintage finds, I love the local thrift stores here 🙂

Thank you for linking up with us every week! We can’t wait to see your posts!

Prom Dresses 2014

I love the idea of prom, dressing up, getting your hair and makeup done. It prepares you for the future, the one important occasion that every girl dreams of – her wedding day.

Becoming a prom queen is definitely a dream for a lot of girls. What is it about royalty and princesses that lures us in? I know Disney has made a huge impact, but the real life princess Kate Middleton is also loved by many. Unfortunately not everyone can be a queen, but you can still feel like one, in the right dress, of course.

I remember picking out my own dress. My mom and I went all over town, tried so many things on, and in the end I went with a pink top and skirt combo. It was nothing fancy, but I liked it. If I were to re-live that moment, I’d definitely go for a red carpet inspired gown, something that you might see at the Oscars. Sadly that wasn’t even an option back in 2003 (seems so long ago).

A few tips to keep in mind when picking out your prom dress:

– Know your body shape and which style dress compliments it the most.
– Accessories and shoes are an extremely important part of the look, it’s not just about the dress.
– Think about the colors in advance, pick one that makes your eyes look brighter, or accentuates your skin tone.

Another important thing to remember – prom dresses don’t have to be expensive. There are some very affordable ones on JenJenHouse. I picked out a few of my favorite celebrity inspired ones to share today.

Last Bell. Good Riddance. And other memories of HS

8 years ago I was officially done with high school! And that was one of the happiest days of my life! I hated HS, with all the drama evolving around me! I didn’t even spend the rest of the day with my classmates, I went to hang out with my American neighbors, choosing pizza over booze, I still believe I made the right decision! After seeing a trolly full of HS grads roll down the street, I came home and dug out some of my old pictures. I am sure you are all dying to see what I looked like in HS, especially my fiance 🙂 I believe I’ve shown these pics only to the few chosen ones, and there is no way they are going to go on FB!

Pics of me, my mom and my friend Jamie on the way to HS

Here is one with my elementary school teacher

And my English teachers, I am where I am thanks to them (oh god that rhymed!)

And here is the whole class (it’s really hard to tell if everyone is there because of the white bow madness going on! a soviet tradition I didn’t follow! Yes, I was all about standing out! And here I am again, rhyming! )

I guess I thought I could really rock those bangs back in 2003! Happy Last Bell dear Russian graduates! (Like you are gonna read this blog 🙂 )
