Top from a T-shirt. Today’s DIY project.

I found this old/new T-shirt in the closet about a week ago, and I would’ve just worn it as a pajama shirt or something like that, but I found out about this amazing book, that I am going to recommend, called “Generation T”

If you love DIY, and are looking for new and interesting projects, Megan has some great ideas.

So here is what i made today:

And this is how I made it:

1. Find a shirt!

2. Decide on how you are going to cut it, and then draw the lines you are going to cut along with either special chalk or soap.

3. Cut along the lines:

4. Save the sleeves (ideas on what to do with the sleeves check Megan’s book!)

5. Choose your lace! Here is the vintage lace that I used.

6. Attach the lace to the T-shirt (running stitch) and hem around the neck and the sleeves. I also narrowed the sides, to give my Top more of an A-line.

7. I also used a piece of lace to decorate the V-cut:

8. Then sewed along the lines and ended up with this!

Little Black Dress

When I was growing up in Russia, we were poor, not poor-poor, but we didn’t have a lot of money either. When I was in 7th grade I wore the same outfit to school EVERY DAY, until one of my good friends (she was a year older too) called me out on that. This is when my mom became my salvation. She sewed and crocheted for me. I soon had more than one outfit to wear to school.

I learned how to knit and crochet too, but I was never confident enough to make my own clothes. Until now!

I found this dress about a month ago

And it came with a scheme, so I decided to create my own, but make it black! (I have been into black, white, and gray lately)

Here is what my “dress” looks like so far:

Will keep you updated!

Love and Lace flowers,

Xoxo

PS. The top of the dress is knitted, but the skirt is crocheted.
