A few freebies from the mailbox

So I am obsessed with samples, and free stuff. And no I am not a hoarder, I just like to try things out. Samples are the best way to do so. That’s why I never miss a Target beauty bag. This summer one just arrived today. And bag wise – that’s my favorite one ever! Love the vintagy looking print and the feel of it!

I am really excited about the sunscreen with SPF 70! How awesome is that! Now the shampoos and the lip butter from Revlon are okay, the coupon book is pretty good. But it seems like they have coupons for the same products in every beauty bag, so a lot of times I end up not using any of those, and well that’s just a waste of paper 😉

Now I also got my Essie nail polish in “Bikini so Teeny” last week. And I got it through Klout. If you don’t know what Klout is – check it out here. It’s kind of a social meter, but the higher your score is, the more perks you get! So Essie nail polish was one of them!

It stays on pretty well, and when I was looking at the nail polish stand at Target today, they were all sold out of this color! I guess it’s popular 🙂

And finally a few more things – a while back I signed up for L’Oreal Consumer Testing, and I wish I could tell you how I did it, but I don’t remember. I think if you just google it, it might lead you to the link and let you sign up. But it basically lets you test make up or fill out surveys, and then the company sends you products in return for the time you’ve spent on it all. So after having completed 5 informational surveys, I was sent the new Garnier moisturizer + serum, and the Lancome mascara.

I haven’t tried the mascara yet, but I am really looking forward to it, because it has a vibrating wand! But the moisturizer, I might just have to give it away.

As for the two middle objects – well as you may have guessed, I got them from work. And I do love the chubby stick! It’s amazing and great for the summer. I haven’t tried Even Better yet, but I have high hopes for this products in terms of removing my acne scars 🙂 Yeah baby!

If you have questions on how to get free stuff, just leave me a comment and I’ll try and help as best as I can! Bye for now,

Z

Shampoo of the Month: Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine

There is a story behind this shampoo. I won it in an on-line magazine giveaway. Right around Christmas. I honestly would’ve never bought it for myself. I’ve been kind of an organic shampoo freak for the past few years. But I didn’t want the product to go to waste, so I started using it. And I loved it! I’ve only been using it for a few weeks now, but it works better than some of the organic ones that I’ve tried. Here is what the packaging looks like:

And the back

I do have frizzy hair, and it is dry on the ends, so this shampoo/conditioner combo works well for my fine hair. It adds shine to it. Doesn’t make it look greasy. The only thing is – Why do all Fructis products smell the same? – I mean I can get over it, it’s their signature smell and all, but still…

So here is what my hair looks like today, after morning shower, and then running around all day :

I usually put some Organix morocan argan oil in my hair as well, and all of these products seem to be working super well together! I still use my Aveda treatment, the gloss by Fekkai, and whatever is left over from that 3 minute miracle by Aussie.

I also want to encourage you to participate in giveaways and sign up for samples, because it’s good to try out new things!

What hair care products are you currently using?

Cheers,

Z

PS. Oh and I hate the little dark green tops, the one on the conditioner is hard to open, and it always gets stuck under my nail 🙁 OUCH
