It’s been less than a day since I finished refashioning my vintage coat, and I already had to wear it! I kept finding excuses to leave the house, and go for a walk, or to the local thrift store (which Sam and I went to and I can’t can’t wait to show you my finds, one of which has already been transformed into something AMAZING!)
I also couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to wear my $1.50 vintage Christian Dior skirt!
My boots are Mexx (bought them ages ago in Russia! I wonder whether that brand still exists?!)
The scarf was thrifted as well, cost me only $3, and came from a small store I used to basically “live in” when I was an Au Pair on the UWS in Manhattan!
And the bag is COACH, thrifted, of course!
It’s going to be an awesome week on my blog, with a sewing project, thrift haul and some refashions coming up!
I am sure most of you have heard that Mila Kunis is a new face of Dior! According to Huffington Post, that’s how you make it out of B list actresses and into the A ones!
Mila has always been one of my favorites! From the annoying shrilled voiced Jackie on that 70′s show, to the moment when she went to Russia with Justin Timberlake and completely intimidated one of the reporters at the press conference!
In my opinion she looks absolutely stunning!
Among other faces of Dior are Kate Moss, Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, Charlize Theron, Monica Bellucci.
What do you all think? Is Mila Kunis going to make a good face for Dior, or is there someone else they should’ve picked?
To prove to you that a lot of good things do come from the Midwest, today we are going to talk Dita Von Teese. DVT lingerie line, DVT diet, DVT anything.
The only Dita I’ve ever met was a girl from Czech Republic, who snowboarded, skied and did all kinds of other extreme sports. She was a friend of a friend.
This Dita’s real name is Heather and well, I know a lot more Heathers than Ditas
Now I am not a huge fan of her ex-husband (aka Marilyn Manson), but a fan of her 22 inch waistline, which she can lace down to 16.5! How awesome is that? I know that a lot of you are going to think that it’s unhealthy, but the woman is 39 and looks fantastic! I hope I can look like her when I am 39, not the black hair, but everything else you know!
And in spite of all the soft porn and fetish movies which she starred in, the woman has a sense of style! She is incredible! She pulls Dior off like no other! Jean Paul Gaultier Christian Dior
Now when it comes to celebs we, ordinary women always want to see them without makeup, just to make sure that there is really nothing there. First of all, stop doing this, because it only leads to low self-esteem, and second of all, make up or no make up a lot of it depends on your charisma and personal style!
Personally she looks great either way! Plus in HS she was blond, which I think is absolutely stunning! I almost like her better blond!
Dita’s vintage look doesn’t only stop on her clothes and accessories, it moves on, transforming her living space:
Dita also doesn’t keep her thin waist success a secret. Here is how you can get one, or slim yours down at least:
From burlesque to cabaret, DVT (I almost feel like I like her because of my other fashion idol – DVF ) is gorgeous upon gorgeous.
She is also famous for her recently created lingerie line, which won’t be in stores in Australian until February 2012. But wait, I don’t live in Australia and neither do you?! Do you? Fret not, after Australia Dita’s line is going global.
So there you have it – the ultimate guide on how to become sexy and stunning – trim your waist and wear stunning lingerie! Thank you Dita Von Teese.
BTW one of my blogger friends Brandy Wilkerson of Victory Vintage Style is very Dita Von Teese! I absolutely love it!
Make sure to check out her blog and her Ebay store!
There are girls who wear make up, and girls who don’t. Among girls who don’t wear make up there are ones who wish they knew how to use and apply make up properly, then there are those who pretend they don’t give a rat’s ass, but deep down want to know how to use make up, and well there are ones who really don’t care.
Girls who wear make up can be divided into way more categories, than girls who don’t. But today we’ll be dividing them into 3: those who accentuate the eyes, those who accentuate the lips, or those who accentuate both. In spite of all these differences in preferences, all of the above trends are “IN” for the upcoming winter and spring.
It’s impressive how the “quotes” industry has evolved over the past couple decades. The calendars, the posters, all these phrases and lines “to live by”. The funny thing about quotes is that they are taken out of the context. And to me that’s kind of like cheating! I remember growing up at church our pastor always said – Some people quote the Bible and say: “There is no God”, but the verse that this phrase has actually come out of really says – “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” (Ps. 14:1)
Now it’s up to you to choose whether or not you should read quotes, follow them, frame them, write them in lipstick on your mirror, but I will always be the quotes kind of girl.
When it comes to fashion, I tend to lean towards quotes by famous designers, or film stars. And for some reason, the quotes on fashion don’t seem to be taken out of the context, they appear like wholesome sentences. Like that was the only thing said. Period.
“Personal Style comes from within. It’s when the woman, her individuality and spirit come through. She uses clothes to express who she is and how she feels”
- Donna Karan
“Style is personality. It’s having the ability to look at things beyond fashion and the self-confidence to transform even the simplest thing into something special. It’s a natural quality you cannot learn and there are no rules to follow”
