Denim Vest

Denim Vest denim vest denim vest

Continuing my summer denim style series with Silver Jeans, I have a new look to share with you! Denim vest is my new favorite summer trend. I especially like this Silver Jeans distressed one. It’s a perfect combination of stretch and color. I’ve been seeing these worn all sorts of different ways, but I especially like to wear mine over a midi dress. Next I want to try wearing it as a top with a skirt!

Do you wear denim vests? How do you style them?

Over the weekend Sam and I drove out to Milwaukee to look for apartments, and I am so happy we found the one we liked! More details later, happy Tuesday!

Last weekend my friend Sarah posted an Instagram photo with a caption “Life is short. Wear a crop top”. This reminded me of a crop top I recently bought at H&M to go with my Bel Kazan skirt I’ve had for a year. Yes, this means I’ve had a skirt hanging in my closet for a year and I am only now able to wear it, whatever. It was worth the wait.

Then I got thinking about the whole crop top trend, and how I would only wear it with something so high waisted, it would basically have to go up to my armpits. But then I remembered I had these jeans, and I fell a victim thinking I was still in my early 20’s and wore it all together. Pretty happy with myself about it actually 😉

Happy Hump Day!

Christmas is over, so is my fall semester. I can’t believe I did it yet again. Let me tell you, college second time around, especially when you are 29 is hard. Hard, but doable. Now it’s just waiting for the grades to go up.

I am really excited for 2016. I will be graduating, moving for work and basically starting all over. Don’t worry, Sam and Mason are coming with!

Meanwhile, here I am at the Cedar Lake Beach in my babushka scarf, wishing that there was less snow and more sand.

Trespassing

Monday I had a photoshoot with Eric at the Sculpture Garden, one of my favorite places in the Twin Cities. I lived in Loring Park for 2 years and the Sculpture Garden was just across the bridge, or the 6 lanes of traffic on Hennepin Ave. It always had this power over me, it made me happy, calm, collected. I got married at the Sculpture Garden, I also went there after my grandpa passed away a few years ago. It’s been my sanctuary. Plus the parking is only $3.50 a day, so 😉

The green house is usually closed on Mondays, but one of the Emergency Exit doors was open, so we were able to get in, along with 30 other people or so. But no one seemed to care!

I kind of have to explain the pants. They are the most comfortable Bel Kazan creation I’ve owned. And they are not leggings. They are an awesome patterned sweat/legging/pant hybrid, that I want to wear everywhere now. And they look absolutely amazing with this moto jacket.

An Unexpected Match

My new favorite look – sweatshirts over everything. Maybe because of the weather, maybe because I’m comfortable, maybe because there are a lot of fun sweatshirts out there.

One of my coworkers has recently brought in a whole bunch of clothes for us to go through and I found this AE cropped hoodie.

Here is the thing – I am 28 and I don’t wear AE, or A&F, or Hollister, or whatever is there that makes me look like a high school student. But this sweatshirt is everything. It’s soft and warm and OMG has a hood! And I am not using it for working out! What?

Yes! This is the story. The best match ever!

Check out other girls posts and make sure to stop by next week for a thrift haul thrift style thursday post!

Classes are in full swing and all of a sudden I am busy with all my assignments and readings. But I love it. It does mean a little less time for the blog. A little less words. Though that’s what we need sometimes – less words.

Here is a dress so beautiful and unique you may think I am weird. It’s a Bel Kazan. And is more of a summer dress than anything. I really don’t care what season it is though, I just want to wear it.

I styled the dress two different ways. Do you like it more with a sweater over it or a leather jacket?

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!
