St. Jude Theater of Dreams

Last Thursday I was able to ditch work early to head over to Stage theater in downtown Hopkins to attend St Jude Theater of Dreams. And of course I have a funny story to tell. I was planning on changing into a different dress for the night, but as I was putting it on in the bathroom, the zipper split. So on the verge of nervous breakdown, and fear of being late, I got into my husband’s car and he dropped me off at the event. I ended up changing back into the firstĀ dress I was wearing all day. And the dress with the broken zipper? I am planning on refashioning it into a skirt!

The night was great. Celebration of the 3rd annual St. Jude Theater of Dreams started with a Gourmet Pizza Party, premier of The Wiz, and Sweets Reception in the end. There was also an icee truck that I might have taken advantage of šŸ˜‰

But above all thatĀ St. Jude is here to help families with kids who are fighting cancer. And they are doing a wonderful job. The care, the attention, everything that the families get, is free. There are no thousand dollar invoices, there are no insurance claims. It’s just kids being treated and getting well. That’s what St Jude is all about.

As forĀ The Wiz and Stgaes theater – I loved it, every single bit of it. I feel like it’s one of those stories that keeps coming back over and over again, with the Wicked, and Once Upon a Time, and it should, because it reminds us to believe in ourselves and value what’s really important in life.

  1. I really like your dress! Sorry about the wardrobe malfunction but if it ends up as a refashioned skirt it’s not too much of a tragedy! šŸ™‚

  2. No ruby slippers Princess. For shame. Great little dress, looks super on you.

  3. What a fun looking event! Do you know Samara of Simplicity in the Suburbs? She’s a friend of mine and was at this event with her family too! It’s a great cause to support!
