The Perfect Holiday Dress // Monday Mode Link Up + It Cosmetics Giveaway

Perfect Holiday Dress Perfect Holiday Dress Perfect Holiday Dress Perfect Holiday Dress

Happy Monday! Here is to another week! My week has a very snowy start. I spent all day Sunday baking a cake to bring into work, and watching Shameless! Obsessed with that show. I don’t know how I didn’t start watching it sooner!

Today’s dress is the perfect holiday dress in my opinion. It’s flattering, unique and has those little details that allow to wear it without any accessories. For the past couple of months I’ve been avoiding wearing any sort of jewelry. I don’t know what it is, probably just a stage 🙂 haha My dress is by LATTORI, and the booties are Kenneth Cole Reaction I got on Hautelook a few years ago.  I’ve selected some similar products for you to check out below:

As promised, we have another holiday giveaway for you! This one is even better than the last! I’ve been obsessed with It Cosmetics for about a year now, and I wanted to share the hype with you today! It Cosmetics has recently become available at Ulta, and you can enter to win a set of 5 brushes, and two ornaments that include Confidence in a Cream and Super Hero mascara! Good luck!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The feature blogger of the week is Alison of Puppies and Pretties! Make sure to tell your friends about the link up! Please help us grow 🙂 We are also looking for co-hosts for 2017! Email me for info 🙂

Sam and I had an incredible 4 day weekend. Thursday we went to campus, and oh my goodness how I missed it! We went to all three campuses, took the connector to St Paul, because I wanted Sam to see my campus, and because I wanted to go to Lori’s for coffee.

It definitely feels good to be a senior, but the realization hasn’t hit me yet. I love school, being on campus (even though I don’t live on campus) and seeing my friends. And I know it will be hard for me to leave, but I’m going to enjoy my last year to the fullest.

This semester I’ll be busy with 18 credits, and two internships, I’m staying with Verizon for a while, as well as continuing my Style Guru escapades with CollegeFashionista. This semester I will also be a social media inter at CF, so keep an eye out for all the awesome #stylegurulove posts on my Instagram.

Peace!

I am wearing: Jeans: True Religion (hand me down), Top – TJ Maxx, Scarf – Wild Ruffle, Booties – Target, Jacket – Old Navy, Tote – Free People

Dressing up on days off is hard, I hate to admit that. Sometimes I don’t even want to get out of my sweats or pajamas. But it always pays off to make that effort. I feel better about myself, my body and my life in general. I have also been struggling with my hair a bit lately. Now that it’s growing out, I am not sure if I want to cut it again, or just trim it and let it grow out a bit longer. Decisions, decisions. Braids have become my way out though. I’ve been French braiding my hair, and seem to be getting away with it.

What do you do with your hair when you don’t know what to do?

InterLACEd {Thrift Style Thursday}

2014-01-23 11.36.01

Today’s Thrift Style Thursday post is literally fresh off the press! I just took these photos! So if you want to know what I currently look like – there you go! Minus the boots, and plus a blanket!

The polar vortex was merciful to me again, and I scored another day off. I really need a break from the whole “Ms. Zhenya…..” gig! (I am a teacher for those of you who didn’t know)

When it comes to lace, I personally believe that it’s hard to pull of. There are very few pieces that can actually be 100% made out of lace and NOT make you look like a giant doily.  In fact this dress is the only lace piece I have in my wardrobe.

2014-01-23 11.31.57

My goal today was to show off a look, that is based around lace, but where lace isn’t the center of attention, and is concealed. So I threw a newly thrifted Chico’s sweater over this Urban Outfitters dress. Added a couple accessories and viola!

You may notice my Ted Baker bag. Well we are in a love-hate relationship here. The bag was the very first prize I ever won in a Giveaway! It was absolutely amazing, because I won it all the way from Russia, and it was mailed to Sam’s house. I knew I was going to marry him at that point, so I could trust him with a handbag! But I haven’t gotten much use out of it, and it’s been in the closet for a couple of years. It’s also lost some of it shape! But I am determined to make it work this season. I am bringing my Ted Baker bag back!

Feel free to check other girls’ posts and join us! We welcome you with open arms 😉

MakerWear On

2014-01-19 17.13.49

Disclosure: The hats shown in the following post were provided for my honest review, the opinions and styling suggestions shared below are my own.

After coming back from New York, I didn’t only change as a person, my style changed as well. It became more laid back, more relaxed, more hip.

So when an opportunity to style MakerWear hats came along, I gladly agreed. MakerWear is all about artists. Only the best designs get made – “curated crowd sourcing” – is what takes place when they want to bring new fashion to market.

Having trouble accessorizing lately, I am also stepping out of my comfort zone and trying on new pieces with this style challenge.

Bacon Tail Maker: Deedee Lazuardi

A screen printer and skateboarder so punk, he wouldn’t even tell us if he actually likes bacon.

I am definitely happy with the quality of the hats. I especially like the Moshi Moshi, it is by far my favorite! I really thought I’d like Put a Bird on It more, but the vizor is too wide for me. I wish I could get away with keeping it flat, but I will have to bend it. And of course Sam thinks I am in a gang now 😉

What did you think of my pics? Which designs would you pick?

To check out more designs visit the MakerWear website, and enter their amazing contest for a chance to win $1000 and a photo shoot! MakerWear hats are available nation wide in a Target near you!

Happy Monday,

Z
