Sunday’s Post: Stories from my closet: About my closet

I thought that maybe before bringing you any more stories from my closet, I should tell you a little bit about it. It’s nothing fancy, plain white, and I have to share the left side of it with my husband’s clothes. My rack is starting to give way, because of all the weight of all the hangers with the clothes, and the fact that I put more than one item on my hanger to save the room.

To be even clearer on what my closet consists of, I made you this:

Now where are all my refashion on this graph? They are probably evenly split between whatever I have freecycled and thrifted in the past, maybe in the future they will get their own slice, but for now I like keeping them where they are :)

Also – shoes and accessories aren’t really included into all this, as well as outer wear, like coats and trenches – I do have a slight obsession with those ;) I keep shoes in a different closet, where I actually have nice shelves for them. Let me know if you would like to see any shoes stories at all :)

Now why do I have so much thrifted stuff? I simply believe in reusing, and recycling, as well as the fact that clothes that have gone from one person’s closet and survived, then survived a thrift store life and still look good, will last a pretty good amount of time.

Wishing you all a fabulous Sunday!

So true, I never thought of it that way!

  5. Morning Zhenya, it’s 7am here in Australia. I was missing your writing last night and seeing what you’ve been up to. Your posts are one of the best that I look for. It’s encouraging to see that my amount of clothes is ‘normal’. Probably even a similar mix of thrifted etc. but I’m getting an increasing amount of home sewn and refashioned. I got onto refashioning after seeing what you get up to. Hope you have a good week.

    • So excited to see that you enjoy my posts, I try to be on schedule with my Sunday posts, but so far I am good only with my weekly ones :) I also love your sewing posts, I am sorry I wasn’t a subscriber to your blog – got that fixed :)

  6. Im busy thinking of my own closet in terms of pies and slices!
